Square A (2.5 × 2.5 m; Fig. 1). Two strata were discerned. Stratum I included two walls that formed a corner (W101, W102) and were preserved a single course high. The walls were founded on a layer of tamped earth and built of ashlar stones. Near them were pottery fragments of bowls from the Mamluk and Ottoman periods (Fig. 3:4-6). Stratum II consisted of an ashlar-built wall (W105), preserved a single course high. A floor (L108) of crushed chalk on a bed of stones abutted W105. The ceramic finds above the floor included fragments of glazed bowls from the Mamluk period (Fig. 3:1).

Square B (5 × 5 m; Fig. 2). A trench for the placing of an electric cable, which traversed the square, disturbed the ancient remains. Two strata, dating to the Mamluk period, based on pottery fragments from the fill above the floors (Fig. 3:2, 3, 7), were discerned. A fieldstone-built wall (W100) in Stratum I was preserved a single course high. A stone pavement (L107) abutted the wall. Two walls that formed a corner (W103, W104) were exposed in Stratum II. The walls were built of fieldstones and preserved two courses high. A floor of small stones on a bedding of tamped earth (L106) abutted the walls.
