In November 1995, an excavation was carried out near ‘Ad Halom junction, at the foot of the northwest corner of Tel Ashdod (Permit No. 6708; map ref. 16735/62980). The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority, was directed by Y.Y. Baumgarten. A saqiye installation complex from the Byzantine and Early Islamic periods, comprising a well, settling pools, a reservoir, as well as pipes and a water channel, was uncovered.
