In November 2006, a salvage excavation was carried out on Jebel Khuwweikha in Kafr Kanna in the Lower Galilee (Permit No. A-4934; map ref. 232700/739025), prior to construction. The excavation, undertaken by the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by the owner of the lot, Mr. Z. Bashir, was directed by Y. Alexandre. The coins were identified by D. Syon. The excavation revealed limited architectural remains from the Iron Age IIA, the Late Hellenistic period and the Early and Middle Roman periods, as well as small finds from the Late Roman and Early Byzantine periods.
