In November–December 2012, a salvage excavation was conducted on the east slope of a spur in the Ras el-‘Amud neighborhood in Jerusalem (Permit No. A-6653; map ref. 223150–200/630650–700). The excavation, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and financed by the Jerusalem municipality, was directed by Z. ‘Adawi. L. Freud studied the ceramic finds, N. Marom studied the faunal remains and T.Z. Ariel and R. Kool identified the coins. The excavation yielded hewn installation and small finds from the Iron Age to the Roman period.
