During August 2008, an archaeological survey was conducted in the Zanoah Quarry (License S-44/2008; map ref. 20230–300/62450–503), prior to enlarging it. The survey, on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority, was performed by P. Betzer and G. Solimany, with the assistance of N. Zak (drafting).
The following archaeological sites are located within the surveyed region: Khirbat Assad, Me‘arat Ha-Te’ommim and Deir Abu ‘Ali. The survey was carried out along a rocky, precipitous slope and no archaeological remains were found.
