The lot is located on a precipitous slope east of the fortress and north of Tiberias’ city wall. A trial excavation in 2002, conducted in the middle of the lot (Permit No. A-3756), revealed a wall and recent tombs. An area (3 × 15 m) along the eastern fringes of the lot was opened in the current excavation.

No ancient remains or tombs were found. A modern wall, probably the remains of the wall that enclosed the lot, was exposed on the eastern fringe. Several potsherds that dated to the Roman and Ottoman periods, as well as an Ottoman coin, were collected from surface.
