During July 2005, a trial excavation was conducted in Nahal Hevron (Permit No. A-4526*; map ref. NIG 19552–8/5840–50; OIG 14552–8/0840–50). The excavation, carried out on behalf of the Antiquities Authority and funded by the Ministry of Defense, was directed by A. Krokhmalnik, assisted by T. Sagiv (photography).
Two squares were opened, revealing a cavity in bedrock, which contained a few body fragments of jars and cooking pots that dated to the Roman period.
