During September 2006, a survey prior to development was conducted in the southern part of the Egrof quarter in ‘Akko (Permit No. A-4888; map ref. 208125–750/759375–750), at the request of the Haifa District of the Ministry of Housing and Construction. The survey, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority, was conducted by E. Stern and H. Abu ‘Uqsa.
An area east of the ‘Akko–Kabri aqueduct and west of Burla Street was surveyed.
The surveyed region east of the city was an agricultural area (an orchard) that had been uprooted prior to the construction of the neighborhood. No archaeological finds were discovered.
